ReactionGaming is not affiliated in any way with the IW4x mod development. We are a non-profit community that loves to mod our video games for fun and research. Our ad revenue goes out to supporting the forum hosting. The original developer known as momo5502 has been cease from future updates to this mod. But yet a 3rd party is continue future of this client. We are not responsible for any future RCE/exploits to the game engine and the mod has that has not yet been patched that will ruined game experience or your personal computer. Remember to backup your computer files like you should have on the first place and If you like the game. buy the game. Do not worry! So far no any RCE's have not yet sabotage this client so you should be SAFE but we will let you know if it does happen on the forums and the our discord channel but most likely new 3rd party developers will know first thing and patch them quickly. So just stay up to date on IW4x and Happy Gaming!

IW4X Includes the Following Features:​

UPDATE: IW4x is now maintained by Alterware. Instructions have been updated to use the Alterware Launcher.​

The IW4X Client does not require you to register on a forum so getting started is pretty easy.

The Easiest Method:
If you don't have a copy of MW2, there is an All-In-One package that contains the game files, the DLCs and the IW4x client files.

1. Download the All-IN-ONE torrent (MediaFire Mirror)
2. Extract all the contents from the zip to a folder like C:\Games\IW4X
3. Download the Alterware Launcher from the official GitHub repo. If you are using Windows, download "alterware-launcher.exe"
4. Place alterware-launcher.exe in the IW4x folder and launch it. The launcher will download the client files and prompt you to press "1" to launch the game.

That's it. You're done.

Notes

If you are an advanced user and are interested in setting up your own server, see the instructions HERE.

1. If you get a 0xc000007b and/or a d3dx0_40.dll, open the Redist folder and run vc_redist.exe then go to your Directx folder and scroll down until you see DXSETUP.exe and run it. If you don't have this folder, you need to download the DirectX updater from Microsoft.
2. If you have a black screen issue, try this BlackScreenFix.bat file and run it on your game folder. (You only need to run that once and should save on your game config until you delete the players folder.)
3. If you get a Fatal Error, look for it here.

Custom Maps (Optional)

You can get custom maps HERE. (Depends on your internet you can download splits or the FULL one) Download & extract the zip and create a folder called usermaps on your IW4x game folder.
